Oban Lifeboat had to send a crewman to Luing recently to find and correct a fault in the radio transmission from Argyll and Bute Council’s ferry service to the slate island of Luing, south of Oban.
We understand that the fault had created interference which was jamming the emergency shipping channel for a week in March, potentially endangering lives.
